What is a “brewing recipe” and how does it affect your cup of coffee? Like chefs, expert baristas design brewing recipes to achieve ideal mouthfeel or texture, and flavour. Depending on a coffee’s roast profile, light/medium/dark the barista will program these variables in there recipes, which are available to you via the Morning app:

1. Brewing ratio: Water quantity in versus liquid coffee quantity out.
2. Water temperature: Lighter roasts require higher brewing temps than darker roasts
3. Pressure profile: This allows the barista to dictated how they wish to apply pressure throughout the shot, bring out nuisances in flavour. This is particularly useful in specialty coffees that are now available in capsule form.
